MEET SUNNIE ISLA TOWNSEND.
They/Them A-Binary
Trauma Specialist & Practitioner | Intimacy Consultant | Founder of QCC
Sunnie (they/them) is a queer care specialist offering trauma-informed support to LGBTQIA+ folks navigating harm, rupture, and survival. Their work is rooted in a commitment to anti-racism, bodily autonomy, and the dismantling of barriers that have historically excluded Queer and Trans people from receiving attuned, dignified emotional care and advocacy.
Sunnie lives on unceded Coast Salish land, also known as Seattle, and spends significant time in the southern regions of Turtle Island in solidarity with movements for Queer and Trans liberation. Place, lineage, and power are not abstractions in their work. They are living contexts that shape how care is offered and received.
A sought-after parts-experiencing facilitator and educator, Sunnie’s work centers the intelligence of multiplicity, especially as it emerges through trauma, altered states, and protective adaptations. Their writing appears in The Trauma of Money by Chantel Chapman, where they contribute to Chapter 7. Sunnie’s teaching invites practitioners and clients alike to explore the altered states parts already inhabit, and to practice presence with the many selves that arise through trauma, with reverence rather than correction.
Sunnie’s framework for psychedelic care and parts work is grounded in consent, relational ethics, and deep nervous system attunement. Their approach prioritizes collaboration over intervention and meaning-making over pathology. You can learn more about this work at Psilocythem.com.
Sunnie identifies as a-binary, gender variant, and sexually queer. Their practice is informed by over a decade of personal involvement in queer community care and more than seven years of professional practice. Before entering clinical and facilitation work, Sunnie spent six years as a wilderness instructor and educator, cultivating skills in experiential education, leadership development, and community building.
They hold a Master’s degree from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in Theology & Culture with a concentration in Trauma. Sunnie is also a certified Trauma of Money Facilitator and Faculty member, trained in IFS Sex & Sexuality, a graduate of the InnerTrek Psychedelic Training Program, and certified in SCRUM and Agile Thinking.
At the heart of Sunnie’s work is a devotion to presence. They believe healing does not come from extraction or force, but from being met. If you are seeking care that honors your autonomy, complexity, and capacity for meaning, you are welcome here.
